Wedding Cameraman Bursts Into Flames

Hi,
over the Easter holidays we shot a beautiful wedding at The Shepherds Cottage at Wantisden. For any of you that don't know it, the cottage is a stunning location for wedding videos and weddings in general. It is divided into two rooms with a roaring log fire in the center, a thatch roof and lovely lawns and views all round.
Now on this occasion, it was snowing outside but lovely and cosy inside with the log fire and the two or three hundred candles around the room on tables and window sills adding to the warmth. And this is where this blog really begins, you see, I was filming the bride at the top table settling in for the wedding breakfast when I felt extra warm, but having no sense of smell, which sometimes is a boon but not this time, I put my hand to my bottom only for it to come away very black and very hot.
By now heads were turning, this is where that sense of smell would have been handy, and someone called out "Andy, you're on fire". My jacket had been sitting on a window sill festooned with half a dozen tea lights, which decided to eat a large wedge out of the back of my suit. Needless to say, Linda was filming in the other room and never caught it on video or I could have got another suit from You've Been Framed, still it gave the guests something to talk about.
On a slightly more serious note, the bride also had a hole burnt through her veil because of the candles behind her chair, which was caught on camera, but no, that's not going to Harry Hill either. Now where's that fire extinguisher!
