Over 20,000 Couples Have Tied the Knot.
Civil Partnership Ceremonies and Civil Partnership Procedures have been in place since the 5th December 05 with over 6,000 Ceremonies being performed in the first 6 months alone. With figures indicating some 20,000 couples have tied the knot since it's inception with many companies in the wedding industry wishing to offer their services to prospective couples, ourselves included, the expected sudden rush of gay couples to have their wedding recorded to DVD has been slow.
Things Are Beginning to Change!
This weekend we were displaying at the Suffolk Wedding Show in Ipswich and were pleased to see one or two gay couples attending the show and making plans for their big day.In fact by the time we had returned from the show we already had an inquiry from our website contact page from a couple getting married later in the year.
The Final Word
Debbie and Elaine Gaston were the first couple in England to have a civil partnership and Debbie said: "I don't think it changed our relationship, but it deepened it." Elaine adds: "Yes, it did, it made it stronger and it strengthened it. I'm not so scared about checking in to hotels as a couple any more."
All in all it looks like a good time to be getting married and good luck to all the couples out there taking their first steps down the marriage path.
