We've been filming wedding videos all over East Anglia for the last twenty years and have seen a refreshing change in the way Bride and Grooms decorate their wedding receptions.

Long gone are the days of plain white tablecloths on square tables with boring name cards typed on plain white card.

Now colour is king, with different shades to match and compliment the chosen colour scheme of todays more adventorous bride, and table names to reflect the couples personalities.

From village names all taken from the tv series, Midsummer Murders to the names of different breeds of cow [the groom was a dairy farmer] to global destinations visited by the bride and groom on their last round the world trip.
 
At one wedding, the tables were all named after sweets with a large container on each table full to brimming with the sweets in question. This did take some explaining during the Bride's father's speech as all the grandparents and elder generartions were seated at "Humbug" table........and I wonder what the guests seated at the table named "Sour Lemons" thought of it all?......but the point was, guests kept running from table to table to pinch handfulls of their favourite sweets, with different tables trying to defend their tables from marauderes. A great atmosphere and great footage for the weddding DVD! 

And the decorations themselves, from flower arrangements to balloons, from throw away cameras to our favourite, bubble blowers shaped like champagne bottles.

Why do we like bubbles so much?..... Simple, it gives us great footage for the finished wedding video, from children who adore them and won't get bored waiting for the proceedings to begin, to grandparents reliving their own childhood with memories flooding back of summer days in their parents gardens.

Brides look particularly lovely when blowing bubbles because they're so happy to see all their family and friends enjoying themselves and this shines through and with todays video cameras, we can catch all this on film and then in the edit suite, using slowmotion, dreamglow filters and complimetary filming angles, we build an unforgettable movie sequence that blows couples away when they watch their wedding video.

We are finding that more and more brides are designing their weddings with video in mind. They know what they want in a finished wedding video from the outset and we love it when they share their dreams with us.
