The best wedding breakfast that I've eaten has got to have been Fish and Chips. We've been filming weddings  all over East Anglia, but at a wedding reception in Southwold, everyone was served fish and chips out of a newspaper cone.

To be honest, the cone was in fact made of high quality cardboard with newsprint printed on it and then tied with a red ribbon, but the fish and chips were without doubt the best that I've ever tasted. Piping hot and freshly cooked in a state of the art mobile chip shop just outside the marquee and then served by waiters in crisp starch uniforms.

Of course this also gave us great footage for the wedding video with over 100 guests in top hat and tails and the ladies in their best evening gowns passing the salt and vinegar round and tucking in to cod and chips complete with a side dish of mushy peas.

I should in all fairness point out that once you received your cone of chips, you did pour them onto a plate and use a knife and fork but the atmosphere was one of great celebration and laughter as the waiters entered bearing Britains favourite dish.

The only downside from my point of view, and this happens with all our weddings, was that because of the many wedding videos we film each year, invariably I have to edit right through the night and there's nothing worse than looking on screen at 3am at steeming hot fish and chips, knowing that the best I can russel up, is a cup of tea and maybe a round of toast.

If you're thinking of having outside caterers for your wedding breakfast, you can do a lot worse than a portion of chips all round!!
